Billy Mills visits BMMS 2022

I photographed gold medal Olympic champion Billy Mills (Ogala Lakota) as he visited the middle school named in his honor. I also tagged along to photograph him at his alma maters, Haskell Indian Nations University (then Haskell Institute), and the University of Kansas. I photographed Mills and his wife, Patricia, at the KU campanile, where he had proposed when they were students. Just behind the campanile is the stadium where Mills ran track during his days at KU.
